Job description

Ready to own it, build it, and grow it?

About us:

We are Publitas! We’re a remote-first, fast-growing SaaS company helping brands turn static content into digital discovery experiences that drive results.

We’re not about busywork, hierarchy, or hand-holding. We hire sharp minds, trust them fully, and measure success by real results, not noise. If you thrive in autonomy, challenge, and high ownership, you’ll love it here.

This role is for you if you…

  • Love designing data models and dashboards that make information accessible, reliable, and actionable.

  • Enjoy working across multi-cloud data environments, leveraging Databricks, Azure, and AWS to design performant and flexible analytics solutions.

  • Thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional setting, translating complex data challenges into strategic business impact.

  • Care deeply about data quality, governance, and scalability, and know how to maintain them across distributed systems.

  • Take pride in structuring and standardizing development workflows that bring clarity, consistency, and reliability.

This role is NOT for you if you…

  • Need layers of process or someone to constantly tell you what to do

  • Prefer “business as usual” over change

  • Want a team where mediocre is okay

  • Have never worked remotely and think async means “lonely”

  • Are waiting for permission instead of taking initiative

Job requirements

The work you’ll do…

  • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards, datasets, and semantic models, ensuring high performance, usability, and scalability.

  • Own the Power BI architecture, from modeling conventions and data governance to DAX performance tuning and workspace/environment structure.

  • Build robust, well-structured data models and ensure consistent modeling patterns across teams.

  • Establish and maintain a version-controlled Power BI development workflow using Git, Azure DevOps, or Fabric deployment pipelines.

  • Create automated processes for validation, refresh monitoring, documentation, and quality assurance to ensure trust in published reports.

  • Collaborate closely with data engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate raw data into clear, actionable, decision-ready insights.

  • Identify performance bottlenecks (DAX, model size, refresh times, visual rendering) and design long-term, scalable solutions.

  • Champion data democratization by creating governed, reusable semantic models that empower self-service analytics across the company.

  • Lead the standardization of Power BI development and maintenance processes — including versioning, documentation, and deployment lifecycle

Who you are…

  • Senior Power BI Engineer (5+ years) with deep experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex BI solutions in enterprise or SaaS environments.

  • Expert in Power BI dataset modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), and the complete Power BI lifecycle - from data ingestion to semantic modeling to deployment pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design and relational database concepts (MS SQL, MySQL), with the ability to write optimized queries when needed.

  • Familiar with cross-cloud environments (Databricks, AWS) and comfortable integrating Power BI with these platforms.

  • Detail-oriented and systematic - you prioritize correct logic, maintainability, and long-term scalability over quick fixes.

  • Clear communicator who can translate technical models into business-friendly narratives and guide teams toward best-in-class BI practices.

  • Passionate about building high-quality BI ecosystems, reusable data assets, and frameworks that scale with organizational growth.

What We Provide to Help You Win…

  • Salary: €50,000–€80,000 per year (gross), depending on your experience level and location.

  • 25 vacation days + your local national holidays

  • A top-tier MacBook and remote-ready gear

  • Monthly wellness budget to invest in your health

  • Co-Working allowance

  • Events, training, or courses that directly and primarily contribute to your work at Publitas

  • Free books on Kindle and Audible

  • Free Publitas Swag (merchandise)

How to Apply…

We don’t ask for CVs or cover letters. Why? Because they rarely tell us who you are or what you’re truly great at.

Instead, we ask smart questions and give you a chance to show us what you’d bring to the role.

No fluff. Just real insight into what it’s like to work together.
